The "Teaching in a Digital Learning Environment" Course
The Alpha Digital School training course has been designed to provide professional development for prospective Alpha teachers. This course is designed to equip prospective Alpha staff with the skills they require to teach efficiently in an on-line learning environment.
The modules of the course cover six key areas. Each module begins with a two day seminar in which prospective Alpha teachers are taught by experienced Alpha teachers and technicians. In the course of the following ten weeks, prospective teachers complete five on-line learning units, issued at fortnightly intervals. On-line training will be conducted via the Alpha audio and video conferencing classrooms and will be supported by regular e-mail contact.
The six modules are:
- Embracing the Alpha Philosophy;
- Digital Literacy - Mapping the On-Line Learning Environment;
- Confidence & Capability - Creating Effective Learning Programmes;
- Navigationism;
- Connectivity;
- Utilising Visually Stimulating Applications & Programmes.
